Video Is an Essential Marketing Tool

More than ever, companies are using video to reach their customers.

There’s a reason video marketing has exploded in recent years. It works. Now, 86 percent of companies rely on video to connect with their audiences. Reach more people and amplify your messages by making your video available in multiple languages.

Use Audio Localization Techniques To Reach Your Target Audiences

Text-to-speech. Voiceover. Dubbing. Use and blend the three audio localization techniques to deliver all your priority content to customers. Let the desired quality level for each piece of content guide your audio localization approach so you can Locaⁱlize everything™.

Text-to-speech technology

Text-to-speech technology automatically adds voiceovers to your video. It’s a great way to localize more of your video content than you might think is possible. This basic audio localization technique  comes with quality tradeoffs, and your video may result in less-than-perfect translations. Text-to-speech is a good choice when you need fast, cost-effective video localization. Voiceovers prove to be a better solution when you desire enhanced quality.

Voiceover

Voiceover is a high-quality video translation technique that is more advanced than text-to-speech technology. First, translators localize the original dialogue. Then, one voice actor reads the translated script in the new language, replacing all the voices in the original video. Voiceovers result in fully localized audio with precise translations when professional translators are used. However, be willing to make compromises on the viewer’s experience. Viewers will know voiceovers have been added to the video since they will hear the original sound in the background. This effect may be satisfactory for some use cases but undesirable when viewers expect an immersive experience. Voiceovers are a good option when localizing instructional content, such as eLearning and training videos, taped interviews and depositions, and live event recordings.

Dubbing

Dubbing is a more sophisticated type of video localization than voiceovers. It produces high-quality translations when professional translators are used and outstanding experiences for viewers. After the script is translated, multiple voice actors re-record the original dialogue in the new language. The number of voice actors usually aligns with the number of speakers in the source video. Though it takes more time and effort to execute dubbing than voiceovers, dubbing produces a superior viewer experience. Dubbing is the preferred method when immersive viewer experiences are needed, including for TV shows, videos, and games.
