Lionbridge Year in Review: Our Top 20 Highlights in 2020

A jam-packed year filled with content and contributions to help customers navigate the pandemic

This year sure was different but despite it all, we’re incredibly proud of our global team who stepped up to learn new ways of working and stayed focused on innovating and delivering for our customers.

To our customers, global Pride leadership, and friends—thank you. We appreciate your resiliency, and we’re grateful to you for reaffirming our belief in the human spirit.

This year more than ever, we feel it is important to take the time to celebrate positive highlights. Here are 20 that we’re full of pride to share. Looking forward to roaring with you in 2021 and to brighter days ahead.

1. In January, we welcomed Corinne Saunders to the Pride as our new Managing Director of EMEA.

2. As the world began to quickly change around us, we shared a Crisis Resources Center to assist our customers with communicating in such unprecedented times.

3. With our Disruption Series, our Life Sciences team mobilized early in the pandemic to put together helpful content that would meet the needs of our customers racing to find a vaccine and treat those affected.

4. As the race for a vaccine continued globally, our Life Sciences team released a drug development resource center. Our  Innovation to Immunity, Infodemic to Illumination resource set out to help our customers develop and deliver safe medicine globally.

5. Lions across the globe adjusted to working remotely, and we shared insights on how to Keep Calm and Talk On—ensuring communication, whether written or verbal, continues despite the uncertainty.

6. We published our Definitive Guide to Over-the-Phone Interpretation, which shares how we provide customers with fast, scalable, quality-assured interpretation services.

7. Changes in our daily habits changed the e-commerce landscape and accelerated online shopping and virtual browsing. We shared how this presented challenges, but also opportunities, in our E-Commerce Disruption Series.

8. Our global events went virtual and we created the Ultimate Guide to Multilingual Virtual Events to help our customers figure out how to successfully transition and reach the largest global audience possible.

9. Speaking of virtual events, our CMO Jaime Punishill spoke at PIMPOINT 2020 and shared how linguistic excellence can drive digital transformation and global expansion.

10. We were proud to support several organizations this year, including:

  • Perfect Strangers, a national nonprofit that quickly organized to provide free delivery of groceries, medications and supplies to those at risk for exposure to COVID-19
  • Women in Localization, the leading professional organization for women in our industry
  • And Translators Without Borders, a non-profit organization that responded to COVID-19 by spreading vital information to those who speak a marginalized language, combatting disinformation on social media and compiling a glossary of relevant terms that supported those doing important translation work about the pandemic.
