Celebrating Pride 2020

Lionbridge CEO John Fennelly shared this message with Lionbridge employees this week to show his support for the LGBTQ+ community and acknowledge the importance of a diverse workforce to the Lionbridge community as a whole.

June is Pride month, when LGBTQ+ communities around the world unite in a celebration of individuality, diversity and belonging. While Pride may look a bit different this year, its spirit is as strong as ever. Lionbridge stands in solidarity with all of our colleagues who are members and allies of this movement.

Through unity, perseverance and courageous advocacy, the global LGBTQ+ community has made great strides in the fight for equality. There is much to celebrate, including a recent decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to prohibit employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

As we celebrate these steps, we also recognize the progress yet to be made to achieve equal rights for people of every background, race, gender identity and sexual orientation. These inequities are often especially visible in the treatment of LGBTQ+ people who are also members of other marginalized groups. It falls on each of us to reject all forms of prejudice and commit to eradicating systemic discrimination and intolerance wherever they’re found.
